Peanut Butter And Jelly Energy Bars Recipe


Nutty, a little sweet and sour, full of nutritious - yet super easy to make and I'm pretty sure you'd already have these ingredients at home. This can be a quick grab-and-go breakfast bar, snack or even pre/post workout meal. Ingredients:

  • Butter or vegetable oil, for the pan

  • 3 cups rolled oats or 2 cups rolled oats and 1 cup rice krispies

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

  • 1/2 jelly or jam

  • 1/4 cup hot water

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  • Smear some butter or vegetable oil on your baking pan.

  • Preheat your oven to 220 degrees C.

  • On the pan over medium-low heat, add in peanut butter, jam, salt and water. Stir constantly until everything is well combined into a thick paste. Turn off the heat.

  • Divide the oats into 3 parts. Add one part into the paste and mix well. Repeat this process until the mixture is well combined.

  • Spread evenly onto a baking pan. Press down, use some pressure so that everything sticks together.

  • Add some more jam on top if you wish.

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

  • While it's still hot, use a sharp knife to cut into 12 bars.
