Updated: Jun 18, 2021

Your whole house will smell like apple-pie making this recipe! This is a perfect way to preserve apples in season. The pan-seared honey butter apple slices are superb edition to your crepes, toast, oatmeal, pancakes, rice crackers, or used as snacks as its own. Ingredients:

  • 2 big apples, sliced

  • 40gr salted butter (4 small cubes or around 3 tablespoon)

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 1 tsp lime juice

Instructions:

  • On medium heat, add ¾ of the salted butter (3 cubes or 2.5 tbs) into a pan, add apple slices in and sear until they turn golden brown on both sides. You can do this in batch if it seems too crowded.

  • Discard the burnt butter at the bottom, wash your pan if necessary.

  • Add the rest of the butter along with seared apples and honey, turn the heat to low, let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

  • Add lime juice, simmer for another 3 minutes and voila!

Store them in an airtight container in the fridge. Heat them up in the microwave when you’re ready to serve.
