Your whole house will smell like apple-pie making this recipe! This is a perfect way to preserve apples in season. The pan-seared honey butter apple slices are superb edition to your crepes, toast, oatmeal, pancakes, rice crackers, or used as snacks as its own. Ingredients:
2 big apples, sliced
40gr salted butter (4 small cubes or around 3 tablespoon)
1/3 cup honey
1 tsp lime juice
Instructions:
On medium heat, add ¾ of the salted butter (3 cubes or 2.5 tbs) into a pan, add apple slices in and sear until they turn golden brown on both sides. You can do this in batch if it seems too crowded.
Discard the burnt butter at the bottom, wash your pan if necessary.
Add the rest of the butter along with seared apples and honey, turn the heat to low, let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
Add lime juice, simmer for another 3 minutes and voila!
Store them in an airtight container in the fridge. Heat them up in the microwave when you’re ready to serve.
