Orange mint flavored strawberry jam recipe

Updated: Jun 18, 2021

It's strawberry season already, I love the scent of fresh strawberries very much but to be honest, strawberries in my city are quite sour (because they are premature harvested) so it's not freshly edible, for a acerophobia like me - creating this multi purpose strawberry jam is probably the only way to satisfy my craving.

My recipe doesn't call for pectin so the texture won't be solid. The upside of it is besides having it with bread or sandwiches, you can also eat it with yogurt, milk, or add soda and you'll have a refreshing strawberry water!

Directions

  • Rinse and cut strawberries in half. Add sugar, mix well then let it sit for 30 minutes or until the sugar is thouroughly dissolved.

  • Add orange juice + orange zest. Boil it over high heat, skim all the bubbling foam. Lower the heat and let it sizzle until the juice is syrup-like and the strawberries are mushy (you can easily mush it using a spoon without too much force).

  • Remove from heat, let cool for 5-10 minutes, add chopped mint leaves. Put in box or jar and store in the refridgerator.
